Leadership Lorain County offers several programs for the youth of our county:
Youth Inclusion: Recognizing the need for the youth perspective, Leadership Lorain County includes in its signature leadership class, four students from 20 area high schools.
Leadership Lorain County Internship Program (LLCIP): Leadership Lorain County in partnership with the Nord Family Foundation provides a paid summer internship experience for Lorain County college students. The internship program places young people in local non-profit agencies. The interns also meet weekly to explore all that Lorain County has to offer along with building leadership skills.
Youth Leadership Academy: The Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is a year-long class of selected sophomore and junior students from area high schools. They come together once a month to build personal responsibility and leadership skills to use in their personal lives within their families, schools and in the community. The 2010 class is from Lorain Admiral King and Lorain Southview High Schools. This year we have 32 enthusiastic and committed students who are enjoying various team building exercises and various individual and community projects.
If your school is interested in participating for the 2010/2011 school year please contact the Leadership Lorain County office. Registration and applications are due May 1st, 2010.
