Leadership Lorain County offers several programs for the youth of our county:
Youth Inclusion: Recognizing the need for the youth perspective, Leadership Lorain County includes in its signature leadership class, four students from 20 area high schools.
Youth Leadership Institute (YLI): Leadership Lorain County in partnership with Lorain County Community College and Early College High School just completed the second year of an intense summer leadership institute. YLI is a 6-week leadership course with students from the Early College High School.
Lorain County Internship Program (LCIP): Leadership Lorain County in partnership with the Nord Foundation provides a paid summer internship experience for Lorain County college students. The internship program places young people in local non-profit agencies. The interns also meet weekly to explore all that Lorain County has to offer along with building leadership skills.
Junior Leadership Academy: Pending funding, Leadership Lorain County will be launching a new youth program based on our adult signature leadership program. We hope to have participants from all Lorain County high schools.
Youth Leadership Summit: In partnership with the Workforce Development Agency, Leadership Lorain County hosts the Annual Youth Leadership Summit. These one-day summits provide Lorain County Youth with an on-hands approach to leadership, through breakout sessions, motivational speakers and fun.
