The Nord Center who's mission is to provide comprehensive mental health services to greater Lorain County is looking for board members that will bring with them a variety of skills. Journey of Hope's Mission is to provide immediate financial assistance for critical and urgent survival needs to support and sustain adult cancer patients and their families. Journey of Hope is looking for additional board members. They are looking for individuals from Lorain and Eastern Cuyahoga counties, but welcome anyone who has a passion for helping cancer patients in need of assistance. JOH also has a need for board members that have specific talents in event planning, human resources and/or fundraising experience.

Catholic Charities Community Services of Lorain County is seeking volunteers to serve on its Advisory Council. The function of the Advisory Council is to support the mission and ensure the viability of the agency by providing assistance with program planning, evaluation, financial review and fundraising, marketing and public relations. The Advisory Council is instrumental in articulating the needs of the community and in helping staff to conduct community assessments which provide information on the issues and concerns facing the community.

Family Promise of Lorain County

The mission of
Family Promise of Lorain County is to help families without homes achieve and sustain independence. Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of the Family Promise of Lorain County, Inc. is an affiliate of the Family Promise Network Program. Locally, Family Promise of Lorain County, Inc. is here to help address the needs of homeless families in Lorain County providing shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. The Family Promise Network is a cost-efficient and effective community response to homelessness which provides a way to house families who are experiencing homelessness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County,an initiative of Leadership Lorain County Class of 1994 and the county's sole provider of one-to-one youth mentoring, is looking for board members to help implement the agency's aggressive growth plan. The agency board is an active, hands on board responsible for resource development, the long range plan, and self-governance. The board meets every other month on the third Thursday at 7:30 a.m. for one hour on even numbered months. Committee meetings scheduled as needed between board meetings (There are four standing committees: resource development, program impact, pr, and recruitment, board development and finance). Every board member is expected to participate in the agency's premier fund raiser, Bowl for Kids Sake.
