This year’s
Youth Leadership Academy participated in “Light Up Lorain” on November 28th to welcome in the Holiday Season. The students will continue to volunteer every weekend in December until Christmas. Many of the students were dressed as elves, toy soldiers and even Disney characters. They helped Santa visit with the children and some "kids at heart". They also helped Mrs. Claus in her kitchen baking cookies.
The Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is a year-long class of selected sophomore and junior students from area high schools. They come together once a month to build personal responsibility and leadership skills to use in their personal lives within their families, schools and in the community. The 2010 class is from Lorain Admiral King and Lorain Southview High Schools. This year we have 32 enthusiastic and committed students who are enjoying various team building exercises and various individual and community projects.
We want to thank the YLA students who participated for sharing their time and talent during this busy Holiday Season!
