25th Anniversary Kick-Off Events—Many Winners!

The Alumni of Leadership Lorain County outdid themselves again with their leadership and their commitment to LLC! Leadership was in much evidence as eight teams raced around the county for the Race for the Silver: The Ultimate Road Rally completing challenges, introducing businesses to LLC, and discovering new aspects of Lorain County.The Sprenger Team (Driver Sandy Kaiser’90, Mary Beth Bouhall’00, Angela Fielding’07, Staci Lehmkuhl’04, Nicole Sprenger’03) were the first team to arrive back at “The Pit” tent at Spitzer Conference Center, thus ensuring their victory also in their section.

The Class of 2010 Team A, Jim Maiorana, Olivia Smith, Traci Grandel, and Amy Szmania completed their challenges and returned as winners in their section, as did the Ross Dream Team, Irene Garsky’08, Maggie Kelch’93, Pat Lawson’00, and Ben West'07.

The fun and competition continued during the Winners Circle-Pep Rally event where the Race for the Silver teams presented a cheer representing their day to our celebrity judge, Jon Loufman, meteorologist from Channel 19. The Class of 2001 Team, Sally Cornwell, Nanci Hardwick, Annie Heidersbach and Linda Lawson-Culberson went home as winners in this category.

Next up was the selection of King and Queen to reign over the evening’s festivities—Pat Lawson’00 and Kyle Gelenius’09 wore their crowns proudly as they led the attendees in the balloon launch at the close of the party to signify the launch of Leadership Lorain County’s 25th year of celebration.

Through-out the evening, the 75 attendees were treated to the sounds of “Less Than 88”, with LLC alumni Bob Bove’04 and Tom Madvad’97. LLC extends many thanks to Bob and Tom along with their band members to their donation of their time and talent.
