Strategic Plan
In Leadership Lorain County's strategic plan process, six goals were identified as the focus for the next two years.
- Leadership Lorain County will work toward fulfilling the leadership needs of Lorain County by:
- encouraging, expecting and facilitating active involvement in civic affairs among its class participants and alumni;
- placing a high priority on the identification and inclusion of emerging community issues in class and alumni programs;
- engaging a diverse participant pool of emerging and existing leaders reflective of the demographics of the community.
- Leadership Lorain County will strategically integrate leadership skills development (i.e. group facilitation, conflict resolution, public engagement, group decision making) into the "learn by doing" curriculum that includes interactive discussions, proactive programs, tours, simulations, and small group community service projects.
- Leadership Lorain County will communicate its successes to the wider community to build visibility and positive relationships with existing and potential stakeholders, and elicit feedback that will help shape policy and program decisions.
- Leadership Lorain County will establish and strengthen alliances, collaborations, and partnerships and expand programming to broaden its sphere of influence in building leadership capacity and sustainable leadership "networks of responsibility" to act collaboratively on behalf of its shared concerns in Lorain County.
- Leadership Lorain County will develop a sustainable funding stream for the organization, which supports programming and initiatives aligned with community leadership needs.
- Leadership Lorain County will ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively relative to the administration, the board of directors, the alumni organization, and the graduates and the communities it serves.
